I understand my work as an analogy with life. Where both art and life are interrelated and drive in each other. In both you have to work wit ideas facts, feelings, passions, memories, social contradictions, fears, limitations, dreams and borders that you may or may not cross. In both you have to organize all this and give it a sense and a meaning.

During the last two years I have being working in my studio- parallel with my work-, a diary (Diary : Banalities). I paint an 11x11inches painting per day. If one day a panting isn't made, that space is occupied by an empty canvas, which represents that day.

The idea to start this "diary", was because it allows me to work ideas in a faster way, and it forces me as a methodology and as a discipline to paint something everyday. Working on small pieces allows me to write down ideas later in a bigger painting, or just leave them there as little notes on a diary.

It is a mix of little things and important concerns - which is what life is about. They are made in a way that makes sense when they are all together as a whole. The final arrangement of these pieces depends on the space where they are placed. It is open to different arrangements, this offers the possibility for different readings.
